Winfried Aufenanger (born January 4, 1947 in Kassel ) was a voluntary association trainer for the marathon runners of the German Athletics Association (DLV) for twenty years until 2001 .

Career

Until his retirement as a police officer, Aufenanger was in charge of the 3rd police station in Kassel. As a long-time national marathon trainer, he acted in championships up to five participations in the Olympic Games . He is co-founder of the Kassel City Run and initiated the Kassel Marathon , which first took place on June 10, 2007. After the Askina sports festival , he was the head of the organization of the revived sports meeting of PSV Grün-Weiß Kassel in 2013 .

Aufenanger trained the PSV Grün-Weiß Kassel club until 2018 , where he supervised a. a. Jens Nerkamp , Ybekal Daniel Berye and Melat Yisak Kejeta . His former athletes also include Silke Optekamp and Simret Restle .

At the end of the year, the 71-year-old left PSV Grün-Weiß Kassel in 2018 and founded his own club, the Kassel running team . Along with around 40 other athletes, Nerkamp and Kejeta also switched with him.

He is married and has one adult son.
