Brittany Bowe (born February 24, 1988 in Ocala , Florida ( USA )) is an American speed skater and former inline speed skater .

Bowe began her career as an inline speed skater . She got on wheels for the first time when she was eight. Between 2002 and 2005 she won nine world titles at the junior world championships . Between 2006 and 2008 she was able to win another eight world championship titles in the senior category.
In 2008 she ended her career as an inline speed skater because she wanted to devote herself to college and basketball . In 2010, when she was broadcasting the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver , she got the idea to try speed skating . She has been taking part in World Cup races since 2011, focusing on the sprint courses over 500 m and 1000 m. In 2012 she reached eighth place over 1000 m at the individual distance World Championships in Heerenveen .
In 2013 she came on the podium for the first time at the World Cup race in Calgary and took 3rd place in the 1000 m twice. In Erfurt she even achieved her first World Cup victory, also over her favorite distance of 1000 meters. At the 2013 Sprint World Championships in Salt Lake City , she finished eighth. At the 2013 World Cup in Sochi , she was third in the 1000m, winning her first international medal.
On November 22, 2015, she set a new world record over 1000 meters with 1: 12.18.
Bowe trains in Salt Lake City with Heather Richardson , the 2013 sprint world champion . At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , she finished eighth over 1000 meters. At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , she won the bronze medal in the team pursuit. In addition, she was there fifth over 500 m and 1500 m and fourth over 1000 m.
