Franziska Schenk (born March 13, 1974 in Erfurt ) is a German television presenter and former speed skater .

education

Franziska Schenk passed her Abitur in 1993 in Erfurt. In October 1994 she began studying German , film and media studies and journalism at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz , which she completed in 2003 with a master's degree.

Career

As a speed skater, she became junior world champion in all-around competitions in 1993. At the 1994 Winter Olympics , she won the bronze medal over 500 meters. She was German champion several times and in 1997 world champion in sprint four-way combat. After a one-year break, she finally ended her career in March 2000, in which she won a total of eleven World Cups.

Since 1998 she has been working as a presenter and reporter for ARD and MDR . On July 19, 2008 she moderated the sport for the first time in the daily topics in the first.

Since June 2012 she has been part of the ARD Sportschau team , where she presents the latest sporting events on Sundays.
