The Tour de Ski 2009/10 (sponsor name: Viessmann FIS Tour de Ski performance by Craft Sportswear ) is a stage race organized as part of the 2009/2010 Cross-Country World Cup . It took place from January 1st to 10th, 2010 at four different locations in three countries. The 2010 venues were Oberhof (in the DKB Ski Arena Oberhof ), Prague , Toblach and in Val di Fiemme . The South Tyrolean municipality of Toblach held a stage of the Tour de Ski for the first time. During the 2010 Tour, the women covered a total of 60 kilometers, the men ran a total of 102 kilometers.
After the stage race received mostly positive criticism in the previous year, several municipalities applied to host the fourth edition, including cities in Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Austria. Of the four stops on the 2008/09 tour, the starting point in Oberhof and the destination in Val di Fiemme had contracts up to 2013; the problem with the Czech organizers in Prague and Nové Město na Moravě was the stressful travel for the athletes. In May 2009 the FIS finally announced that Prague would continue to be a stage destination, but Nové Město would be replaced by Toblach. The Italian community, located near the border with Austria, also benefited from a newly built cross-country skiing center that will be operational for the 2009/10 season. In addition, the new program makes logistics easier, as the final transfer from Nové Město to Val di Fiemme is avoided, said the FIS race director Jürg Capol , explaining the award to Toblach.
Another change concerned the schedule: the Tour de Ski first started in January instead of December. Capol hoped to be able to hold a larger opening ceremony in Oberhof if it was held on New Year's Day.
January 9: Endurance race, classic, mass start, 10 km (women) and 20 km (men).
January 10: Mountain pursuit, free technique, handicap start *, 9 km (women) and 10 km (men).
(*) Handicap start: This race will start in the order of the current overall classification, i.e. the leader first. The starting distance is the result of the difference in the total times between the starters of all races completed up to then.
Note: The list is sorted by the end result in the sprint. In addition, the prologue time is included in the overall ranking, this is noted in the time column .
