Jens Filbrich (born March 13, 1979 in Suhl ) is a former German cross-country skier .

Jens Filbrich from SV Eintracht Frankenhain comes from a sports-loving family. His father Wolfgang is a qualified sports teacher, former cross-country skier and biathlon trainer ; his mother Sigrun is a former cross-country skier who won bronze at the Olympics. His brother Raik was active as a sports soldier in the Nordic combined . Filbrich is married to former biathlete Janet Klein , with whom he has a son.

Jens Filbrich won bronze at the 2001 World Championships in Lahti and the 2002 Winter Olympics , and silver with the relay at the 2003 World Championships in Val di Fiemme , the 2005 World Championships in Oberstdorf , the 2009 World Championships in Liberec and the 2006 Winter Olympics .

For this he was awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf on April 26, 2006.

In Oberstdorf in 2005 he also won silver in the team sprint together with Axel Teichmann . At the 2007 World Championships in Sapporo , he won the bronze medal over 50 km classic.

On February 20, 2010 Filbrich reached the 6th place in the double pursuit at the Olympic Games in Vancouver after he had supported Tobias Angerer in winning the silver medal.

Jens Filbrich ended his active career after the 50 km race in Oslo on March 8, 2014. Before that, he had taken part in the Olympic Games in Sochi for the fourth time , where he took 14th place over 15 km.
