Silvana Bucher (born February 3, 1984 in Malters ) is a Swiss cross-country skier .

Silvana Bucher lives in Schüpfheim and competes for the ski club from Entlebuch . In December 2000 she took part in international races at the FIS Continental Cup and junior level for the first time. At the Junior World Championships in 2003 in Sollefteå , Sweden , she was 19th in the mass start race over 15 kilometers and 46th over five kilometers in the classic technique. At the Junior World Championships in 2004 in Stryn , Norway , she was 33rd in the five kilometer distance, this time in free technique, 51st in the sprint and twelfth with relay. At the Winter Universiade 2005 in Innsbruck and Seefeld , she was 21st over five kilometers in free technique and 38th in sprint. In March 2006 Bucher made her World Cup debut in a 30-kilometer race (48th) in Oslo . She collected her first World Cup points together with Flurina Bachmann in the first team sprint of the 2006/07 season in 18th place. At the 2007 Winter Universiade in Pragelato , the Swiss woman achieved eleventh place over the 15-kilometer route and was 13th in the sprint. At the season highlight, the Nordic World Ski Championships 2007 , she finished 25th over 10 km freestyle and ninth place with the relay. At the U23 World Championships 2007 in Tarvisio , she won gold over 10 km freestyle. Bucher achieved another good result at the start of the 2007/08 season in Düsseldorf, where she finished seventh in the team sprint with Seraina Mischol . Together with Bettina Gruber , she represented Switzerland at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver in the team sprint, where she was eliminated in the semi-finals. At the Swiss Cross-Country Ski Championships 2010, she won gold over 10 km classic, in the 10 km pursuit race and in the sprint. In March 2010 she achieved her best result in an individual World Cup race in Oslo with sixth place in the sprint. In the same month she won the Storlirennet over 36 km freestyle. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo, she achieved 22nd place in the sprint and 19th place in the 30 km mass start race. She ended her career in January 2012.
