Career

Zeller made her international debut as part of a 5-kilometer race (36th) in the Continental Cup. Until December 1999, apart from the Junior World Championships in 1999 in Saalfelden (16th place over 5 and 15 kilometers), she only took part in Continental Cups and FIS races . On December 28, 1999, she started for the first time in a World Cup sprint in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (46th). It took more than four years before she was used again in this competition series in February 2004 and was 54th in the pursuit of Oberstdorf .

Since the early 2000s at the latest, Zeller began to specialize in sprint courses, but without completely giving up distance races. At the national championships in 2006 in Fischen im Allgäu , she won the silver medal behind Stefanie Böhler , and came fourth in the pursuit. With Manuela Henkel , Evi Sachsenbacher-Stehle and Claudia Künzel , she achieved her best result so far in a World Cup race in November 2006 in Gällivare in the relay as runner-up. In Changchun she finished ninth in February 2007 for the first time a single-digit place in a single race of the World Cup.

At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2007 in Sapporo , Zeller started in three races, the best place was a 25th place over 30 kilometers. The 2007/08 season started promisingly with eighth place in the Düsseldorf team sprint . This was followed by two second places in relay races in Beitostoelen and Davos . Later in the season she achieved a good ninth place in the Tour de Ski and her first and only individual World Cup podium placement with a third place in the classic race over 10 km in Lahti . She finished the season in 17th place in the overall World Cup ranking. On March 9, 2008, she won the Engadin Skimarathon . At the Tour de Ski 2008/09 she reached 17th place. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Liberec in 2009 , she finished 18th in the individual races over 10 km classic and 17th in the 15 km pursuit race. Together with Evi Sachsenbacher-Stehle , Miriam Gössner and Claudia Nystad she won silver in the relay. In March 2009 she won the German championship over 5 km freestyle and in the 10 km mass start race. She finished the Tour de Ski 2009/10 in ninth place overall.

In February 2010 Zeller won silver in the relay at the Olympic Games in Vancouver together with Evi Sachsenbacher-Stehle, Miriam Gössner and Claudia Nystad. Her best placement in the individual races was 14th in the sprint. At the end of the season, she achieved second place in the season in Lahti. After a weak start at the Tour de Ski 2010/11 , she took 12th place in the overall ranking with top ten placements in the last three stages. Her best results at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo were 12th place in the 30 km mass start race and fifth place with the relay. At the Tour de Ski 2011/12 she achieved sixth place in the overall ranking, her best overall result on the tour. She finished the season in 13th place in the overall World Cup ranking. Her best results at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2013 in Val di Fiemme were eleventh place over 10 km freestyle and seventh place with the relay. In the Tour de Ski 2012/13 and 2013/14 , she finished tenth and 12th place in the overall standings. At the Rollerski World Championships 2013 in Bad Peterstal , she won gold in the 11 km mountain run. In December 2013, she took third place in Asiago together with Denise Herrmann in the team sprint. At the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi , she came in 26th place in the skiathlon, 25th place over 10 km classic and 12th place in the 30 km mass start race. After the 2013/14 season, she ended her career.

In 2010 she received the Silver Laurel Leaf for winning the Olympic medal.
