Beitostølen

Beitostølen is a Norwegian winter sports resort in the municipality of Øystre Slidre in Fylke Innlandet . The place is on the edge of the Jotunheimen Mountains at around 900 m above sea level. d. M.

Beitostølen has both an alpine ski area in Raudalen and a ski center with low mountain range slopes in the village, as well as more than 35 km of cross-country trails ; the local cross-country trails are used to host World or European Cups in cross-country skiing and biathlon . Beitostølen has about 100 inhabitants and numerous accommodations for tourists, the actual main town of Beito with a few hundred inhabitants is 300 m below. It is one of the most popular winter sports locations in Norway.
