Yorck Polus

Yorck Polus (born November 16, 1970 in Waltrop ) is a German sports presenter for the television station ZDF . He mainly moderates Nordic skiing , rowing , canoeing , handball , triathlon and cycling .

Life

Yorck Polus started rowing as a child. From 1983 to 2010 he then worked as a performance rower with national and international success. He was German youth rowing champion in 1988, fourth at the Universiade with the German university eighth and third at the student world championships. In addition, he studied sports science and sports medicine at the University of Heidelberg from 1991 to 1996 and received his doctorate from 1996 to 1998 at the universities of Dortmund and Münster .

Polus has been working at ZDF as a presenter, live reporter and editor in the main sports department since 2000. Since 2002 he has been reporting from the Olympic Games as a reporter . He has been moderating the Paralympics since 2010 . From 2011 to 2017 he was the deputy editor-in-chief of the ZDF sports report . In 2011 he developed the SportXtreme format , and in the following year he took over the management of the show. Since 2016 he has designed, moderated and directed the ZDF sports report . Since January 1, 2018 he has been editor-in-chief of the ZDF sports report .

Yorck Polus is married and has five children. He lives in Castrop-Rauxel and Mainz .
