The ZDF-Sportreportage (own spelling: ZDF SPORTreportage , until 1994: Die Sport-Reportage ) is a weekly ZDF sports program on Sunday afternoons. Around 45 programs are broadcast each year, with average production costs of around 100,000 euros.

subjects

In the ZDF sports report , similar to the ARD broadcast Sportschau am Sonntag , in contrast to the current sports studio , different, widespread sports are reported. Mostly reports about ball sports are shown here. The reports, which have both results and background information, often deal with topics of interest to the German-speaking audience, such as football , basketball and handball from the Bundesliga or international competitions. There are also contributions about football from other countries (e.g. Premier League in England , Primera División in Spain etc.). Another part of the program often deals with motorsport (with a focus on Formula 1 and DTM ). In winter, the ZDF sports coverage is often expanded to include reports and summaries on winter sports . The focus is primarily on sports enriched by German-speaking athletes such as biathlon , ski jumping and alpine skiing . On certain occasions, such as the Olympic Games or world championships in Olympic sports ( swimming , equestrian sports , gymnastics , ...), the reporting is also expanded to include these topics. From the 2015/2016 to 2017/2018 season, the Bundesliga games on Friday and Saturday were prepared and discussed in "aftermath" with one of the experts Simon Rolfes , Holger Stanislawski and Hanno Balitsch . Towards the end of each program there is the “Sports from all over the world” category. Less popular or even exotic sports such as rugby , the Shrovetide football game or cheese rolling are often shown here.

Since 2015, the format has been supplemented by a detailed, monothematic special edition at irregular intervals. ZDF sports report extra takes up controversial topics such as B. violence in the stadiums, extreme sports to the limit or highlight new developments such as the Formula E racing series in motorsport. Yorck Polus is the host of these special programs .
