Günter-Peter Ploog

Günter-Peter Ploog (* 1948 in Albersdorf ; † September 17, 2016 in Hamburg ) was a German sports journalist and TV producer.

Career

From 1971 to 1979 Ploog was head of the sports department at dpa in Berlin and from 1979 to 1992 sports editor at ZDF . In 1992 he moved to Premiere (now Sky Deutschland ) as deputy head of sport , where he stayed until 2000, before becoming media director and board spokesman at Eintracht Frankfurt until 2001 . Since 2002 he has been the owner of a TV production company in Hamburg. He has also been commenting on the Hamburg sports broadcaster sportdigital since 2010 . On the side he commented on ZDF occasional summaries of the Bundesliga . At the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics , he commented on the boxing events on ZDF. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , he also commented on ice hockey games on ZDF.

Ploog died of a heart attack on September 17, 2016, at the age of 68 .
