Tele-illustrated

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The tele-illustrated was a magazine that ran on weekdays from 1982 to 1991 in the ZDF evening program.

Emergence

From April 1, 1982, the tele-illustrated ran as a follow-up to the turntable in the evening program of ZDF. The concept of the turntable , information and entertainment, with reports and interviews, studio guests, but also advice, with music at the end of the program and studio audience, was retained. The previous editors today, Alexander Niemetz and Bernhard Töpper , had designed the tele-illustrated and played a key role in building it up. They both also moderated, and Alexander Niemetz was also their first editor-in-chief from 1982 to 1983.

Also some moderators of the turntable like Ulrich Craemer , Peter Nemec or Helge Philipp took part in the tele-illustrated , but this was only presented by one moderator.

The ti , as the tele-illustrated was also called, initially came from Wiesbaden , just like the turntable . With the move to the new broadcasting center on the Mainz Lerchenberg , ti now also came from Mainz. From December 6, 1984, broadcasts were broadcast from the new rotunda from the 500 m² studio 3, where around 200 guests could be there live as spectators every working day.

The tele-illustrated ran from Monday to Friday at around 5:08 p.m. directly after today's broadcast (from 1983: 5:15 p.m.) on ZDF. From 1988 to 1989 it came at 5:10 p.m. and from October 2, 1989 at 5:25 p.m., and then from 1990 to the end of 1991 it started again at 5:15 p.m. The transmission time was about 40 minutes from 1982 to 1983, from 1983 about 30 minutes, from 1988 to 1989 about 35 to 40 minutes and later again 30 minutes. On current occasions, the transmission time was shifted by a few minutes every now and then.

The last broadcast was on October 1, 1991.

content

The tele-illustrated had the claim to inform and entertain the television viewer at the same time. At the end of the day, the magazine offered a large selection of different topics from different areas.

In every edition of the ti there were the main topics: the current topic , the good advice , from the countries and sport .

Like the turntable , the tele-illustrated was also a live broadcast. In addition to the immediate, spontaneous reactions of the studio audience, the current day's events often came first. Whether politics, business, sporting events or cultural and social events, with reports, interviews and on-site reports, the tele-illustrated was always close to the action with its column The Current Topic and then changed its broadcast schedule at short notice .

The service section The good advice was also a major focus . As in the turntable , the viewer found a lot of useful and practical information for everyday life, be it cars, cooking, law, medicine, travel or leisure - advice and tips were an important part of every program.

The news block from the countries , also taken over from the turntable, was spoken from April 5, 1983 as a separate program today - from the countries by an editor after the news today at 5:08 p.m.

In addition to current information and reports, the daily series In Conversation was the focus of every program. A short film was shown on a topic and then a (often prominent) studio guest was interviewed.

The most important sports news of the day was briefly reported in the daily sports section . In addition to news from popular sports such as football or tennis , reports on sports for the disabled as well as mini and fringe sports such as curling were shown here. The sports news was presented by a sports editor. With the start of the ZDF lunch magazine on October 2, 1989, the sports corner was integrated into this program.

At the end of each program there was the music block, here the musical spectrum ranged from German to English-language music and from opera to hits and rock music. In the tele-illustrated new songs were often presented by well-known performers, but also lesser-known singers and groups, such as school and leisure choirs, or even rare or unusual musical instruments could be seen and heard.

Specialty

The tele-illustrated was one of the first and few programs that were allowed to broadcast live from the GDR in the mid- 1980s . On December 1, 1986, Helge von der Heyde and Ulrich Craemer presented live from the opening of the pre-Christmas Striezel market in Dresden , with technical support from GDR television .

Follow-up broadcast

From October 3, 1991, the country journal (1991–1996) went on air. After German reunification, the focus was now on the 16 federal states and especially on the new federal states. So it was reported more often on site. On the summer tours of the country journal, you were on your way from the Baltic Sea to the Bavarian Forest . However, the composition remained, in a slightly different form, consisting of current topics, a range of services, music and the audience. Claudia Burkhardt , Thomas Hegemann and Rüdiger Wolff also moderated this program.
