Rüdiger Wolff (born May 30, 1953 in Eckernförde as Rüdiger Pollack ) is a German actor , moderator , singer , composer and lyricist . Wolff is the father of Katharina Wolff .

Life

Wolff grew up in Flensburg and had his first vocal performance there at the age of eight in the Church of St. Michael. Four years later he was selected to sing one of the three boys in Mozart's Magic Flute at the municipal theaters of his hometown. After minor roles at this theater, he played his first leading role there in 1973 at the “Niederdeutsche Bühne” (NDB) and initially studied German and history at the University of Hamburg . He completed an acting training at the "Hamburg Acting Studio". His first engagement took him to Hanover, where he sang the main male role in the opera “Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny” by Bert Brecht and Kurt Weill. Further stations were Kiel, Munich, Hamburg and the “Theater des Westens” in Berlin.

Career

As a singer, he has released 30 singles and six albums so far. Ballads like “Where are we going”, “My heart stays with you” and “The sun goes up” stayed in the airplay charts for weeks. The almost 10-year collaboration with his daughter Katharina was particularly successful. The two radio hits landed together, such as “With you together”, “Love gives” and above all “It must be love”. Wolff makes guest appearances throughout Germany with his own settings of Erich Kästner, Wilhelm Busch and Theodor Storm poems. Every year at Christmas time he goes on tour with his musicians and the “Nordic Christmas” concert program. Alone and with his daughter Katharina, he was a guest in over 60 television shows such as “ Welcome to Carmen Nebel ” (ZDF), “ Die Goldene Eins ” (ARD), “Christmas with Marianne and Michael” (ZDF), “ ZDF TV Garden "," Always on Sundays "(ARD)," tele-illustrated "(ZDF)," Music for you "(MDR)," Current Schaubude "(NDR) and others. v. a.

In 2013 he will celebrate his 40th stage anniversary. The following year, Wolff was diagnosed with the incurable disease amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). In August 2018 he released the album Dideldum! with 15 self-composed chansons with texts by Wilhelm Busch .

Commitment to nature conservation

As a patron of the NABU, Wolff is committed to the protection and preservation of storks in northern Germany and is the official ambassador of his hometown Flensburg.
