Bernie Paul

Bernie Paul (actually Bernhard Paul Vonficht , born February 12, 1950 in Schweinfurt ) is a German singer and producer . He was also active under the pseudonym Vincent Promo .

biography

Bernie Paul began playing saxophonist in the combo Seven Up in the 1960s . In 1973 he became a member of the Family Child group. In 1978 he got a record deal with Ariola and his first hit Lucky reached number 6 in the German single charts and the Austrian hit parade in 1978 . In the same year a German cover version of Roy Black was released . In February 1981 In Dreams came 18th in Germany.

His biggest hit was Paul in June 1981 with the title Discofox Oh No No . This song reached second place on the German charts. A short time later Wencke Myhre sang the German version Oh No No - You're not my type, I know that for sure . There were other international versions of this song by Sacha Distel and the Finnish singer Kirka .

Bernie Paul is also very successful as a songwriter and producer. He wrote It's a Real Good Feeling for Peter Kent and produced the single Weil i di mog for the group Relax . He wrote the song Sail Away from Beck’s advertising and the song Mitten ins Herz from the RTL television series Gute Zeiten, Bad Zeiten . In 1990 his song You for Me and Me for You became the theme song for RTL Wimbledon broadcasts. In 2002 Paul's first German-language album Einfach Relaxed was released .
