It's a Real Good Feeling is a song by Peter Kent that was released as a single in November 1979 and was also released on the album The Dream Machine Part 1 & 2 in 1980 . It was Peter Kent's only number one hit in Germany , but it also reached the top ten in Austria and Switzerland .

Origin and content

The song was written by Harald Steinhauer and Vincent Promo and produced by Steinhauer. The pop song has clear elements of disco music. The protagonist praises the “magic” of his new love affair, which also throws him off course, but for which he would still “beg and steal”.

Publication and reception

The single was released in November 1979 by EMI Electrola . On the B-side is the title Carrie . It's a Real Good Feeling reached number one on the German single charts and was there for two weeks from April 12 to April 20, 1980, and was listed for 34 weeks in total. In Austria it reached number three (24 chart weeks) and in Switzerland number five (nine chart weeks). In the Netherlands it came in 32nd (seven chart weeks), in Belgium ( Flanders ) in eighth (twelve weeks) and in Sweden in 18th (three weeks). The song was also featured on numerous compilations .

On February 25, 1980 Peter Kent performed the song at disco on ZDF . Günther Sigl from the Spider Murphy Gang played the electric bass.

Other versions are by David Hasselhoff , Bernie Paul , Albin Rasch , Neville Nash , Dieter Hallervorden ( Leally Good Feeling ), Svenne & Lotta , Ralf Anders ( I sit between two chairs ) and Jettie Pallettie ( Ik ga jou versieren ). Dirk Böhling , presenter at Radio Bremen , created a version in Low German .
