Peter Kent (music producer)
Peter Kent (actually Peter Hedrich , * 9. September 1948 in Herten , Ruhr area ) is a German pop - singer and producer . The surname Kent is a stage name.
Career
Kent started his career with a group called Six de conduits. He then toured Germany with ensembles of the musicals Hair (in the role of Claude), Godspell and Jesus Christ Superstar .
From 1975 he was a member of the vocal group Love Generation . The formation, which appears in a constantly changing line-up, released their most famous title, Hör 'again Radio , with which they took a surprising third place in the preliminary decision for the Grand Prix Eurovision 1975 . With Thomas Alva Edison , who was also in the German selection for the Eurovision competition in 1976, they still managed to hit the top 50 in the airplay charts . Love Generation appeared several times in Ilja Richter's cult show Disco .
Kent's successful solo career began in late 1979. His single It's a Real Good Feeling rose to number 1 on the German charts in April 1980 and stayed there for a week. In total, the single sold 750,000 times. Other top 20 hits were You're All I Need (1980, DE # 15), For Your Love (1980, DE # 19) and Stop 'n' Go (1981, DE # 13).
Starting in 1986, recordings were made with the Spanish pop singer Luisa Fernandez , who was also his partner during this time. These included hits like Solo por ti (1986, DE # 18), Con esperanza (1987), Y tu (1988) and La luna lila (1990). Their joint publications lasted until the mid-1990s, after which the couple separated again.
Kent was also responsible for other productions, e.g. B. José Feliciano with his song The Sound of Vienna (1988, 1st place in Austria ), Geier Sturzflug ( Gross National Product and Visit Europe (while it is still available) ) and the girl group Optimal around CC Catch . Kent sees himself as the discoverer of the Spider Murphy Gang , for which he co-produced an album.
In 2013 he released a new version of Real Good Feeling and the title Summertwist together with Antonio Di Natale .
Peter Kent now lives with his partner and two children in the Rosenheim district of Westerndorf am Wasen .
