The German preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 1975 took place under the title Ein Lied für Stockholm .

format

As in previous years, the then program director of Hessischer Rundfunk, Hans-Otto Grünefeld, commissioned the record companies to submit suitable interpreters and songs for the German preliminary round. A total of 15 performers competed with their titles.

This year the contributions were sung live by the performers. The show was led by the presenter Karin Tietze-Ludwig , who became known as Lottofee and who had already moderated the preliminary decision Ein Lied für Edinburgh 1972 for the hr.

A jury consisting of 36 people voted on the winner's title. Its members came from the following 9 cities in what was then the Federal Republic of Germany:

Each of the 9 city juries consisted of exactly 4 people, including a journalist, a musician, a layman interested in music and a television entertainment manager. Each jury member was able to give each title up to 5 points as the highest rating. Adding the points allocated resulted in the total in each case. For reasons of time, the results of individual evaluations were not disclosed in detail, only the total number of points achieved by each title was published. The winner was announced one hour after the end of the preliminary round.

Attendees

This preliminary decision is considered by ESC fans to be the best-filled preliminary decision in Germany.

Among the participants were the young singers Maggie Mae (Die totally crazy time) and Marianne Rosenberg ( He belongs to me ), who later stormed the charts with this song.

Born in France, Séverine with Spin in the Top of Time was already the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 1971 in Dublin for Monaco .

Mary Roos (A love is like a song) represented Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest in Edinburgh in 1972 and achieved third place with Only Love Makes Us Live .

Katja Ebstein (I love you) represented Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest 1970 in Amsterdam ( miracles happen again and again ) and at the Eurovision Song Contest 1971 in Dublin (This World) . At that time she reached third place.

Well-known pop stars were also participants, Jürgen Marcus with A song goes out into the world and Peggy March with Alles geht vor über .

The Austrian singer, musician, composer and author Peter Horton performed with the song Am Fuß der Leiter .

Norbert Daum from the duo "Jokers" appeared as a conductor a total of seven times at the Eurovision Song Contest from 1979 onwards, five of which he conducted the German contribution.

Trivia

During the live broadcast, before Ricci Hohlt's contribution, there was a brief power outage of about 30 seconds, about which the FAZ wrote in retrospect: “The tricky technology caused a lonely high point of the Tralala in Frankfurt. Content and form coincided ”.

Joy Fleming's contribution A song can be a bridge only reached 17th place in Stockholm, yet it is one of the best and most popular German ESC songs among fans.
