Shuky & Aviva

Shuky & Aviva (also Shuki & Aviva ) was an Israeli singing duo that consisted of Shuki Levy (born June 3, 1947 in Tel Aviv ) and Aviva Paz (born October 3, 1943).

Career

Shuky & Aviva mainly recorded records in French . Between 1972 and 1978 there were over 15 singles, some of which Levi had written himself. Her greatest hit, Signorina concertina, is said to have sold around two million copies in 1972. They presented this song in a German version in 1973 on the ZDF hit parade . Shuky & Aviva experienced their peak in 1975 and 1976 when they joined forces with Bye bye à bientôt (1975), Je t'aime un peu trop , Fête l'amour , the French version of the Eagles hit Hotel California and Viens que je t'embrasse (1976) hit a number of great hits. In addition, the duo published a number of songs in German and English. In total, Shuky & Aviva sold around one and a half million singles and 100,000 albums in France.

In Germany, Shuky & Aviva became known primarily for their participation in the preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 1975 . You and I and two dreams , written by Rainer Maria Ehrhardt and Jean Frankfurter , achieved sixth place with starting number 15. In March of the same year Shuky & Aviva appeared with this title in the ZDF hit parade . Another gig followed in August with Fortunately there is music .

After the duo separated in 1978, Aviva began a solo career under her first name, which began in France with Singles Quizas (1978) and Sois pas jaloux and Hey Boy (1979). She later released other records in Hebrew in Israel.

Levy, who was married to actress Deborah Shelton for a few years from 1977 , stayed in the music business as a composer and producer. The IMDB lists him with compositions for over 100 films and series. Levy has made a name for himself above all in the animation genre , including the music for He-Man , She-Ra and Power Rangers . He has sold around 14 million records and received 15 gold and platinum awards .

In 2002, a collection of 18 songs by the duo and two solo recordings by Aviva was published under the title Best of . In 2012, L'intégrale, a 4-CD retrospective of the duo followed. In addition to the French successes, it also includes recordings in German, English, Spanish and Japanese.
