Georg Buschor

Georg Buschor (born March 14, 1923 in Athens , † February 11, 2005 in Lugano ) was a German songwriter who, together with the composer Christian Bruhn, created a large number of well-known hits.

Early years

His father was the classical scholar Ernst Buschor , who headed the German Archaeological Institute in Athens. In 1929 the family moved to Munich, where Buschor grew up. He entered class 4B at the Maximiliansgymnasium in Munich on April 12, 1937 and was drafted into the armed forces on March 20, 1942 from class 8. After the end of the war he studied philosophy and theater studies in Munich and then began working as a songwriter in Schwabing . In 1949 he worked first as a composer and then as a lyricist. Buschor lived in a small roof truss of his parents' apartment, known as the "closet" by visitors because of the crowds.

1950s

1960s

Based on Floyd Robinson's American original Makin 'Love , Buschor wrote the German title So Ver Crazy for Dalida (EP Das Mädchen von Piraeus ; 1960). The first common hit with composer Christian Bruhn established a long-term, successful collaboration. Both wrote for Conny Froboess with Midi-Midinette a Parisian seamstress with the characteristic Hohner - Cembalet (recorded on May 15, 1960) with music producer Nile Nobah her first singles chart success (ranked 4 on the German charts). Mireille Mathieu - Goodbye Acropolis

In 1970 Buschor brought out at least 25 titles. Georg Buschor developed into one of the most successful German songwriters and had its musical climax in the sixties, when he became one of the most important songwriters for Mireille Mathieu. Manuela and Drafi Deutscher also owe some of their successes to him. At that time, according to a newspaper report, his annual income from royalties amounted to 200,000 DM. Like many of his colleagues, he wrote a German text for English-language originals.
