The 5th Eurovision Song Contest took place on March 29, 1960 in the Royal Festival Hall in London, as the Netherlands , which won last year, did not want to host the competition again. The moderator was Katie Boyle, who presented the competition four times until 1974.
Attendees
In the fifth Eurovision Song Contest, there was a new record of participants with thirteen countries. After Denmark and Sweden, Norway was the third Scandinavian country to take part for the first time. Luxembourg returned after a one-year break.
Voting procedure
The voting procedure remained unchanged. Again there were 10 jury members in each country, each of whom was allowed to give one vote to a song. The results were communicated by telephone and publicly.
