The 8th Junior Eurovision Song Contest was held on November 20, 2010 in Minsk .
Belarus was accepted due to numerous participations in the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) and Junior Eurovision Song Contest (JESC) as well as the great popularity of the JESC in their own country. In addition, Alexander Rybak , who was born there and won the 54th Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow, advocated an event in Minsk.
venue
The Minsk Arena , which was completed at the end of 2009, was the arena for the JESC 2010. It can hold up to 15,000 people and was built primarily for sporting events. The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2010 was the first major event in the arena.
Attendees
The European Broadcasting Union originally wanted to publish the final list of participants in mid-June. However, since more time was needed to get in touch with all countries, this plan was initially rejected. The final list of participants was announced at the end of July. A total of 14 countries agreed, including two returnees. With the approval of Moldova, it was also possible for the first time in four years to win a new participant for the competition.
