The 5th Junior Eurovision Song Contest took place on December 8, 2007. It was played in the Ahoy Indoor Arena in Rotterdam , the Netherlands . The host country was selected by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) on July 13, 2006. The host city was announced on September 11, 2006. The winner of the show is Alexey Zhigalkovich from Belarus with the song S druzyami ("With friends")

The EBU raised the minimum age from 8 to 10 years. In addition, this was the last contest with the black man as a logo. From 2008 the Eurovision Song Contest lettering was specially adapted for the JESC and has been used since then.

The winning entry from Belarus, S druz'yami , is to date the only winner who has not received at least one point from all other countries (Cyprus did not award a point to Belarus).
