The 11th Eurovision Young Dancers took place on June 24, 2005 in the National Theater Warsaw , in Warsaw , Poland . The host was TVP , which held an EYD again after 1997 . At the time, Poland was only the second country to host an EYD more than once.
The winner was the Dutch dancer Milou Nuyens with her dance Snakesense . It was the first time that the Netherlands won the competition. The host country Poland came in second with the dance couple Elena Karpuhina & Michał Wylot. 3rd place went to the Belgian dancer Marjorie Lenain.
venue
TVP selected the Warsaw National Theater in Warsaw as the venue . It was the second time since 1997 that Poland hosted an EYD. At the time, Poland and France together were the only countries that hosted the competition multiple times.
format
Dancers between the ages of 16 and 21 could perform. However, only solo dancers or couples could compete. There was another semi-final, as the number of participants would otherwise exceed the time frame. There all 13 participants competed against each other, but only ten of them qualified for the final. There was still a professional jury, but this again awarded 1st to 3rd place and no longer three prizes as was the case in 2003. The jury was chaired by the Russian dancer and choreographer Maja Michailowna Plissezkaja . The president of the jury was the Russian dancer Irek Mukhamedov. The other jury members were:

Attendees
A total of 13 countries took part in Eurovision Young Dancers 2005, four fewer than in 2003. Armenia, Estonia, Switzerland and Ukraine withdrew from the competition. In addition, for the first time in the history of the 2005 competition there were no debutants. With 13 participants it was the smallest competition since the beginning of 1985, where only eleven countries took part.

The 2005 semi-finals took place on June 22nd, two days before the final. The following countries have already been eliminated in the semi-finals:
