The Eurovision Choir of the Year took place for the first time on July 22, 2017 in the Latvian capital Riga . After the Eurovision Song Contest in 2003, Riga hosted a Eurovision event for the second time.

On February 14, 2017, the EBU announced that the first Eurovision Choir of the Year would take place in the Arena Riga , in Riga .

format

Moderation

On February 27, it was announced that the American composer and conductor Eric Whitacre will host the competition together with the Latvian presenter Eva Johansone.

    NorwayNorway Norway On September 5, 2016, NRK announced that Norway was currently excluded from participation, as it was already participating in Let the Peoples Sing , another choir competition of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).
    SwedenSweden Sweden SVT ruled out a debut at the Eurovision Choir of the Year on May 29, 2017.
