The 2nd Grand Prix Eurovision de la Chanson , the official title of that year, took place on March 3, 1957 in the large broadcasting hall of the Hessischer Rundfunk in Frankfurt am Main , after this television station had agreed to hold the event. Switzerland had refused to organize the program a second time in a row. The moderator was the actress Anaid Iplicjian .
Attendees
In addition to the seven participants from the previous year, three more took part in the second Eurovision Song Contest, namely the United Kingdom , Denmark and Austria , so the EBU decided to only allow one song from each country.
