The 2nd Grand Prix Eurovision de la Chanson , the official title of that year, took place on March 3, 1957 in the large broadcasting hall of the Hessischer Rundfunk in Frankfurt am Main , after this television station had agreed to hold the event. Switzerland had refused to organize the program a second time in a row. The moderator was the actress Anaid Iplicjian .

  • In addition to the seven participants from the previous year, three more took part in the second Eurovision Song Contest, namely the United Kingdom , Denmark and Austria , so the EBU decided to only allow one song from each country.

    Voting procedure

    The voting procedure had been fundamentally changed compared to the previous year. In each country there were 10 jury members who were each allowed to give one vote to a song. The results have now been sent to Frankfurt a. M. transmitted.
