National selection process
Denmark
Denmark held a national preliminary round called Dansk Danse Grand Prix on August 24th , in which three professional dance couples took part. These three couples had previously been selected internally by a jury from eight couples from the Danish Dance Sport Association (three Latin couples, three standard couples and 2 mixed couples). The preliminary decision was held on the Town Hall Square in Copenhagen and the winning pair was determined via telephone and SMS voting. The winners also received the maximum number of points from the jury.
Participants were:
- Mette Skou Elkjær & David Kim Ehlers Jørgensen
- Lotte Rodenberg & Kristjan Vellejus
- Maija Salminen & Martin Reichhardt
Germany
The German dance couple was selected on June 30, 2007 as part of the Great Summer Festival of Folk Music . In contrast to other countries, the couples each consisted of a celebrity and a professional dancer. The audience decided by televoting. Participants were:
- Ruth Moschner & Sergiy Pluyta (2nd place - 44% of the votes)
- Thomas Anders & Sofia Bogdanova (3rd place - 7% of the vote)
- Wolke Hegenbarth & Allan Frank (1st place - 49% of the votes)
Since Allan Frank was very limited in time due to his current training as a long-distance pilot, Wolke Hegenbarth took part in the Eurovision Dance Contest with professional dancer Oliver Seefeldt . Both already knew each other from the RTL show Let's Dance ! (1st season) and were runner-up at the time.
Finland
The Finnish preliminary round was held on August 25th, just one week before the final. An attending jury commented on the performances, but did not award any points so that the decision was left to the audience, who voted by SMS and telephone. The show was moderated by Jaana Pelkonen , who hosted the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest from Helsinki and the Finnish preliminary decision.
Participants were (in starting order):
- Aleksi Seppänen & Elina Katainen
- Erik & Sanna Hento
- Sami Vainionpää & Merje Styf
- Sami Helenius & Jutta Markkanen

Five couples formed from the professional dancers competed against each other and a jury (consisting of Jane Gilheaney, director of the Shaylyn Dance Company in Ballinamore , Co Leitrim, David Bolger, artistic director of the Coiscéim Dance Theater in Dublin and Julian Vignoles) selected the winning couple Nicola Byrne & Mick Donegan .

In the last round on August 22nd, the Lithuanian TV audience and the jury chose Gabrielë Valiukaitë and Gintaras Svistunavicius .
Netherlands
The Netherlands held a national preliminary round on August 4th, in which only professional couples could participate. The winning pair was determined by telephone voting.

Poland
As winners of the second season of the Polish edition of Dancing with the Stars - Taniec z gwiazdami - Kasia Cichopek and Marcin Hakiel were given the opportunity to represent their country in the Eurovision Dance Contest. This means that Poland will also be represented by a “mixed” couple; Kasia Cichopek is actually an actress. They have a dance school together.

The Portuguese television broadcaster RTP selects the participants internally. The dancer will be Sónia Araújo, prominent winner of the second "Dança Comigo" season ("Dance with me"). Your male colleague is Ricardo Silva.
Russia

Switzerland
The Swiss television broadcaster selected the couple, consisting of figure skater Denise Biellmann and professional dancer Sven Ninnemann, internally and announced them at the beginning of July.
Spain
The Spanish dance couple was chosen as part of the Mira quien baila a Eurovision program . The format was very similar to Let's Dance , but instead of celebrities, unknown people take part. In addition, a celebrity took part as a “guest dancer” in each program. In the final on July 9th, there were still four couples facing each other, Amagoya Benlloch and Abraham Martinet Fernandez were the favorites of both the audience voting by telephone and the jury.

The couple has been going separate ways privately and professionally for some time and will dance together for the last time for the Eurovision Dance Contest.
Scoring board
poll
15 countries voted by televoting . Since the program was not broadcast live in Greece due to the ongoing fire disaster, the substitute jury was asked to vote. As with the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2006, the lines were already open at the beginning of the broadcast. The ratings were given according to the countries in alphabetical order (according to the English names), with the scoring table being updated after points one to seven had been read out before the first three places were read out.
Comments on the vote
- Nine of the 16 countries, almost three fifths, received the highest rating of twelve points at least once.
- Second-placed Ukraine received the highest rating five times.
- As in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 and 2007 , Lithuania received the only twelve points from Ireland.
- Austria, Ireland, Ukraine and Finland received points from all other countries.
- Finland was seen in the top four by almost all countries, only Germany and Great Britain each gave four points.
Start order
Switzerland came first and came last, Finland came last and finished first. Also, all countries that made the top four appeared in the second half; Furthermore, Sweden was the only country not to make it into the top ten in the second half.
Neighborhood voting
Some countries got their highest scores from neighboring countries: Russia (12 from Ukraine, 10 from Finland), Great Britain (7 from Ireland), Austria (10 from Germany), Germany (10 from Austria and Switzerland), Spain (12 from Portugal), Poland (12 from Germany) and Denmark (8 from Sweden); however, none of these countries made it into the top three.
Other countries received above-average ratings from other countries: Ireland (12 from Denmark), the Netherlands (12 from Greece) and Lithuania (12 from Ireland). In addition, Switzerland received no points from its German and Austrian neighbors; nor did the five Danish points to Sweden and the four Finnish points to Denmark testify to neighborhood voting.
The substitute jury
The result of the Greek substitute jury differed significantly in places from the nations voting by telephone: 12 points went to the Netherlands (by far the highest score of the evening), two points to Austria (together with Great Britain, the lowest of the evening). Nevertheless, Greece gave 10 points to the eventual winners from Finland.
