Johan Martin Lidberg (born February 1, 1973 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish wrestler . He also gained fame as the winner of the Swedish edition of Let's Dance .

Athletic career

Martin Lidberg took part regularly in the European and World Championships in wrestling between 1993 and 2003, in 2003 he took first place, which is the greatest success of his career. He took part in the Olympic Games three times in 1996, 2000 and 2004. In Athens he had to admit defeat to the Russian Gogi Kogushvili in the semi-finals , whereupon he announced that he no longer wanted to participate in the Olympic Games.

Dance competitions

Cecilia Ehrling was Lidberg's professional dance partner during the second season of the Swedish edition of Let's Dance. With their tango performance, the couple achieved the highest possible jury rating with 40 points and won the competition in front of TV presenters Tobbe Bloom and Annika Sjöö. With this victory, the couple automatically qualified as Swedish representatives at the Eurovision Dance Contest on September 1, 2007 in London . They presented a Paso Doble and the dance Disco Fusion , but could not convince the European audience: Ehrling and Lidberg received 23 points and came 14th out of 16 participants.
