Ch! Pz is a four-piece Dutch pop group . The group should appeal to younger children in particular with catchy songs. The group was put together in 2003 after several casting rounds by the Dutch children's channel Fox Kids .

history

In the Netherlands, Ch! Pz's singles were not played by many radio stations because the program managers found the music to be too infantile. With the promotion of Fox Kids and the support of viewers on the station, Ch! Pz became one of the most successful bands in the country. Within a year and a half, the group reached the top of the Dutch single charts three times. At the end of 2004 they were involved in the single "Als je iets kan doen", which was recorded by many Dutch artists for the victims of the December 26, 2004 tsunami .

At the beginning of 2005, Ch! Pz in Black was the first Ch! Pz single to be released in Germany, and it climbed to number two in the single charts. At the beginning of May 2005, their second single, Cowboy, came in at number two. A week later she climbed to number one.

The videos of the group are always structured according to the same pattern: The members of the band have to perform “heroic deeds” in different exotic surroundings in the clothes that are customary there. For example, in Ch! Pz in Black they prevent an alien invasion and in Cowboy they arrest a horse thief in the Wild West. The video for Captain Hook shows a meeting with the famous captain of the popular children's fairy tale Peter Pan . Further singles that were already successful in the Netherlands and the album The Adventures Of Ch! Pz were released with a time delay in German-speaking countries and later also in Great Britain and were also successful there. The band was also successful in Sweden and Norway.

In 2005 the second album The World of Chipz was released . The third album was released in 2006, is titled Past, Present, Future and contains 11 songs that go through the different epochs of history, from ancient Rome to the present. In 2007 Ch! Pz did their first theater tour in the Netherlands. In the same year the best-of album The H! Tz Collection was released . In addition to the most successful hits, this album contained three previously unreleased songs and a special remix of the debut single Ch! Pz in Black . In December 2007 the single "Make A Big Splash" was released in the Netherlands, which was presented at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2007 . In 2008 they released their last album in the Netherlands with the title CDX (Chipz Dance Xper! Enz) , which was previously promoted with a television series . In November 2010 the management announced the dissolution of the group, although the members wanted to continue the project. The planned release of the album The New Adventures of Ch! Pz has been canceled.

The Ch! Pz were the official advertising medium of the Dutch fashion house C&A and had their own collection there called “ Ch! Pz Cho! Z ”.

On April 1, 2018, a one-time appearance by Ch! Pz in the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam was announced on Facebook. Over 200,000 fans were interested in this event. In retrospect, the whole thing turned out to be an April Fool's joke that "slipped out of my hands". The large number of interested fans has now motivated the four to work on a comeback. On October 27, 2018, they performed again for the first time in the Brabanthallen Den Bosch in Smerrig.
