Kazakhstan at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest
This article looks at the history of Kazakhstan as a participant in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest .
Preliminary decisions
The first Kazakh preliminary decision took place on September 22, 2018. The participant for 2019 was determined internally, but was already third in the preliminary decision in 2018.
Participation in the competition
With the announcement of the official list of participants by the EBU on July 25, 2018, the Kazakh debut at a Eurovision event was also published. Similar to the channel SBS from Australia, the channel Khabar is only an associated member of the EBU, which is only allowed to participate in an ESC by invitation.
The broadcaster already broadcast the 2017 competition live and sent its own delegation to the venue in 2013 and 2017. Khabar has been an associated EBU member since January 2016.
Due to the two official languages Kazakh and Russian , the participants from Kazakhstan, similar to those from Belarus and Malta, have the opportunity to choose between several languages.
