This article deals with the history of Poland as a participant in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest .
Preliminary decisions
Poland chose its contribution in 2003 and 2004 with a national preliminary decision, the Junior Eurosong. Also in 2016 and 2017, a national preliminary decision was held after their return with the name Eurowizja dla Juniorów . In 2018, the participant was elected internally for the first time, in this case the first winner of The Voice Kids Poland. The multi-level Szansa na sukzes format was used for the first time in 2019 .
Participation in the competition
Despite a three-year contract with the EBU, Poland did not take part after the 2004 JESC, mainly because it came last in both competitions and only received three points in both years. In 2008 they wanted to return with a participant in the Mini szansa show , but ultimately decided against participating. In September 2016 they confirmed that they would return to the competition after an eleven-year break and reached eleventh place out of 17. In 2017, they were able to reach the top ten with an eighth place for the first time, before winning the event in 2018 with 215 points. A year later, the JESC took place in Poland for the first time. Here Poland won again and was even able to break its own point record with 278 points. This makes Poland the first country to win the JESC twice in a row and to record a home win.
