This article looks at the history of Norway as a participant in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest .
Preliminary decisions
From 2003 to 2005 the Melodi Grand Prix Junior was always held to determine the Norwegian participant.
Participation in the competition
Norway was not very successful in the first two participations and was thirteenth in each case. It was not until 2005, in the last participation to date, that they came third. Since then, like Denmark, they no longer participate, as both turned to the MGP Nordic because they did not agree to a rule change that allowed professional child artists.
