This article deals with the history of Serbia as a participant in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest .

Preliminary decisions

From 2006 to 2010 there was a preliminary decision called Izbor za dečju pesmu Evrovizije every year. From 2014 to 2016, the interpreter and contribution were selected internally, while in 2017 they returned to a preliminary decision.

Participation in the competition

Nevena Božović (center) finished third in 2007 and competed in 2013 as part of "Moje 3" at the ESC

Along with Belarus, Serbia is one of two countries that had already participated in the JESC before the first ESC participation. After a fifth place in the debut in 2006 (which is still the JESC contribution with the most languages, including Serbian, English , French , German , Italian , Spanish , Russian and Japanese ), Nevena Božović took third place in 2007 , which was also achieved in 2010 with Sonja Škorić. Nevena Božović is next to the Tolmacheva sisters , Michele Perniola and Anita Simoncini, one of the few performers who took part in both the Junior Eurovision Song Contest and the Eurovision Song Contest . In 2014 Serbia returned to JESC after a three-year hiatus. There they reached tenth place with 61 points, Lena Stamenković came in 7th in 2015. In 2016, Serbia finished last for the first time at a Eurovision show.
