This article deals with the history of Albania as a participant in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest .

Preliminary decisions

The 2012 contribution was chosen through a preliminary decision called Junior Fest Albania 2012 . In 2015 and 2016, the participant was chosen by the preliminary decision Festivali Mbarëkombëtar i Këngës për Fëmijë . The Junior Fest preliminary round has been taking place since 2017 .

Participation in the competition

Because of the last place in the debut in 2012, Albania, like Israel, suspended immediately after the first participation. In 2015 they returned to the competition. Mishela Rapo's song Dambaje was the first entry in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest to contain lines in Turkish and Serbo-Croatian , as neither Turkey nor Bosnia and Herzegovina have yet participated in the competition. With fifth place, she achieved the best result in the country to date at the JESC in 2015. In all other participations, Albania was among the last five.
