Israel at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest
This article looks at the history of Israel as a participant in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest .
Preliminary decisions
The first contribution was selected internally and put together through auditions. It can be assumed that the broadcaster will also make an internal decision in 2016.
Participation in the competition
Due to the relatively poor placement in 2012 at the debut despite the favorite status, Israel, like Albania, suspended immediately after the first participation and did not participate from 2013 to 2015 inclusive. But in 2016 Israel will return to competition. In 2016, Israel did not achieve a good ranking and came in fifteenth out of 17 participants. Israel canceled its participation for 2017, but will return in 2018 as the reigning ESC winner, similar to Portugal in the previous year.
