Armenia at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest
This article deals with the history of Armenia as a participant in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest .
Preliminary decisions
With the exception of 2007, when internal elections were held, there was a public preliminary decision called Junior Eurosong every year . In 2015 an internal selection was carried out with Mika for the first time since the debut. He took part in the Armenian preliminary round every year from 2012 to 2014. Also in 2016 there were internal elections, both times Armenia came second.
Participation in the competition
The national broadcaster ARMTV is a member of the European Broadcasting Union and even though the country is geographically part of Asia , singers and groups from Armenia take part. In 2007 they participated for the first time and finished second, just one point behind the winner. After another second place in 2009, they won in 2010, this time by just one point. Regardless of the 2010 victory, the 2011 competition took place in the capital Yerevan . Armenia is one of the most successful participants in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, although it only won once. With a few exceptions, you always made it into the top five. However, the success waned in 2018 when Armenia not only placed outside the top 5 for the second time in a row, but also achieved its lowest ranking of all time with 9th place.
