This article deals with the history of Bulgaria as a participant in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest .

Preliminary decisions

In 2007, 2008 and 2011 there was a public preliminary decision. When they returned in 2014, they were elected internally. A public preliminary decision took place in 2015 and 2016. There were four preliminary rounds and a final in which only the participant was found. The contribution is determined internally.

Participation in the competition

Since the first participation in 2007, they only participated again in 2008 and 2011. Seventh place in 2007 is compared to eighth place in 2011 and last place in 2008. In 2012 and 2013 they were not there, but returned to the JESC in 2014 in cooperation with BNT and another TV broadcaster. In 2014 they achieved second place with 147 points. This was the best JESC result in the history of Bulgaria at the contest, which is why Bulgaria took part in 2015. On January 26, 2015, it was confirmed that Bulgaria would host JESC 2015, the first time that the country hosted a Eurovision event. The 2015 home contribution reached the ninth of 17 places. For 2017 Bulgaria canceled its participation.
