Tjeerd Oosterhuis

Tjeerd Oosterhuis (born December 25, 1971 in Amsterdam ) is a Dutch composer and music producer .

Career

Oosterhuis was born as the son of the theologian, poet and former priest Huub Oosterhuis .

At the end of the 1980s he founded the band Total Touch with his younger sister Trijntje . In 1996 they both achieved their commercial breakthrough with the singles Touch Me Here and Somebody else's Lover . The album Total Touch , which was released in the same year, is the best-selling debut album by a Dutch band with more than 500,000 copies and stayed in the Dutch charts for 116 weeks.

For the charity project Artiesten voor Azië , which collected donations for the benefit of the victims of the seaquake in the Indian Ocean on December 26, 2004, he composed the number one hit Als je iets kan doen .

In spring 2009 he was a guest judge for the second season of the Dutch edition of the talent show X Factor .

He has been married to the singer Edsilia Rombley since September 1, 2006 .
