Edsilia Rombley

Edsilia Rombley (stage name Edsilia ; born February 13, 1978 in Amsterdam ) is a Dutch singer.

Rombley made her breakthrough in 1996 when she won the Dutch talent competition Soundmixshow . In April 1997 she also won the European final of this event.

The following year she won the National Song Festival of the Netherlands under the name Edsilia with the title Hemel en Aarde and thus qualified for the Eurovision Song Contest in Birmingham . There she reached fourth place and thus achieved the best placement for the Netherlands since Teach-In won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1975 .

In 2007 she appeared again for the Netherlands with the song On Top of the World at the Eurovision Song Contest , but failed already in the semifinals in Helsinki , where she finished 21st.

She is married to the composer Tjeerd Oosterhuis .
