Manfred Renz (born August 9, 1952 in Saulgau ) is a German state and local politician of the Greens .

After graduating from high school in 1972, basic military service and community service followed. From 1973 to 1979 he studied and graduated with the title Diplom - Geographer .

In 1984 he was elected to the local council of Eningen under Achalm . In 1989 he was re-elected and elected to the district council of the Reutlingen district. From 1992 to 1996 he sat in the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg through a second mandate from the Reutlingen constituency . He was a member of the economic and petitions committee. In 1994 he was re-elected to the local council and district council.

From 1996 to 2004 he was mayor of Bad Herrenalb , where he was not re-elected. In February 2003 he ran for the mayoral election in Reutlingen and achieved 16.5% of the votes in the first ballot. He also ran for the mayoral election in Weinsberg in February 2004, but failed with 13.31% of the votes in the first ballot. In February 2005 he reached third place in the mayor election of the city ​​of Ostfildern in the Esslingen district with 13.8% in the first ballot.
