Bill van Dijk (1982)

Bill van Dijk (aka Willem Edsger van Dijk ; born December 22, 1947 in Rotterdam ) is a Dutch singer and musical performer .

After his theater training he became known as a musical performer and starred in productions such as Hair , Evita and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat . For the Sesamstraat , the Dutch Sesame Street , he lent his voice to various doll figures.

As the winner of the Dutch preliminary round, he took part in the 1982 Eurovision Song Contest in Harrogate . He landed at number 16 with the pop song Jij en ik .

A great success for him was his lead role in the production Cyrano: The Musical . Due to the resonance in his homeland, the piece was also performed with him on Broadway .
