The two had their nationwide breakthrough in 1956 with the carnival hit Oh wat ben je mooi . In 1962 they won the National Song Festival with the title Katinka , the Dutch preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest in Luxembourg . There they shared the last place with Belgium, Austria and Spain. For the first time in the history of the competition, the Netherlands did not vote. However, the poor performance did not detract from the success in their home country and the song developed into a hit.
In the following years more singles followed, but without any major commercial success. In 1975 the two musicians decided not to perform any more in the future and shifted the focus of their professional activities to music management . The artists they supervise include André van Duin , Jan Blazer , Ben Cramer , Saskia & Serge and Joke Bruijs .
