Willeke Alberti

Willeke Alberti (born February 3, 1945 in Amsterdam ) is a Dutch singer and television actress. The folk singer Willy Alberti was her father.

Life

Willeke Alberti was married to bassist Joop Oonk from 1965 to 1974 . They both have a daughter, Daniëlle, who is married to the Dutch ex-soccer player and current co-national coach John van 't Schip . In 1976 Alberti married John de Mol , and in 1979 their son Johnny , who is now an actor, was born. Alberti and de Mol divorced in 1980. In 1983 Alberti married the Danish soccer player Søren Lerby and they have a son. They separated in 1996.

Career

The light blonde Willeke Alberti made her debut at the age of eleven. At the age of eighteen she had her first great success in 1963 with Spiegelbeeld (Eng. "Mirror image"), a song about a bride who looks back on her youth.

In the 1960s she was the most popular popular singer in the Netherlands. Her probably most successful song was De winter was lang (Eng. "Winter was long"; 1964), a cover version of the song Blue Winter by Connie Francis . Other songs she has covered in Dutch include Toen je me kuste ( Then He Kissed Me by The Crystals , 1963), Wie neemt er mijn plaats in vandaag ( Whose Heart Are You Breaking Tonight by Connie Francis, 1964), Vlinder van een zomer ( Angel Of The Morning by Merrilee Rush , 1968) and Zijn egen wonder ( Un jour, un enfant by Frida Boccara , 1969). In addition, she also recorded duets with her father.

She later turned to acting. In the successful 13-part television drama De kleine waarheid (Eng. "The Little Truth") from 1970 based on a novel by Jan Mens , she was the leading actress.

Musically she worked with Paul de Leeuw , André van Duin and Jos Brink , among others .

In 1994 Alberti represented the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest with the contribution Waar is de zon (Eng. "Where is the sun"), but only came 23rd out of 25 participants.

In 1996 she was awarded the title of Knight of the Order of Orange-Nassau by the Dutch Queen .

From May to November 2008 Willeke Alberti appeared in the Dutch soap opera Goede tijden, slechte tijden . She also played the role of Lucy in the 2012 film Alles is familie .
