List of moderators at the Eurovision Song Contest
This article deals with the topic of the moderators of the Eurovision Song Contest . The moderators in this article are divided into decades.
Moderators 1950s
In the editions from 1956 to 1959 it was the normal case that there was only one moderator or, in 1956, one moderator. To this day, Lohengrin Filipello is the only man who has ever moderated the competition alone.

1956 | Switzerland | Lohengrin Filipello |
1957 | Germany | Anaid Iplicjian |
1958 | Netherlands | Hannie Lips |
1959 | France | Jacqueline Joubert |
Moderators 1960s
In the 1960s, only one presenter led the evening. Particularly noteworthy is the presenter Katie Boyle, who acted as host three times during this period.
Moderators 1970s
Until 1977 it was still the case that a moderator acted as host. In 1978, with the duet Denise Fabre & Léon Lemon, there was for the first time more than one presenter. Also in 1976 with Corry Brokken there was the first case that a former interpreter or winner of the song contest acted as a presenter.
Moderators 1980s
From 1980 to 1987, moderators again led the evening. It wasn't until 1988 and 1989 that there was another duet consisting of a moderator and a moderator. In 1985 there was another former participant in the competition, Lill Lindfors , who acted as a moderator.
Moderators 1990s
In the 1990s there was often a duet consisting of a presenter and presenter as host, in 1993 and 1995, however, there was only one presenter. With Gigliola Cinquetti & Toto Cutugno there was a moderation for the first time in 1991, which consisted only of two former Eurovision winners or former performers. In 1999 there was the first case that three moderators acted as hosts.
Moderators 2000s
In almost every year in the 2000s, with the exception of 2007, there was a moderation consisting of a duet of moderator and moderator. With Marie N & Renārs Kaupers 2003, the case of 1991 was repeated when two former Eurovision interpreters moderated the competition together. In 2007, as in 1999, there was again a moderation consisting of three moderators. Whereby there was the special feature that the presenter Krisse Salminen only moderated in the green room. In 2009, for the first time, and for the only time so far, there was a case in which different moderators were used in the semifinals than in the final. Also there were with Sakis Rouvas 2006, Željko Joksimović 2008 and Alsou 2009 some previous interpreters of the Song Contest who acted as moderators.

Moderators 2010s
In the 2010s there were many different moderation compositions, many of which appeared for the first time. From 2010 to 2012 it was always the case that two moderators led through the event. In 2013, for the first time since 1995, there was only one presenter with Petra Mede , even if she presented the final together with Eric Saade . However, he only moderated in the Greenroom during the final, as this was spatially separated from the Malmö Arena, from which Mede moderated. In 2014 there was another moderation consisting of three people, but this time for the only time so far there were two moderators and only one moderator. In 2015 there were four moderators for the first time, although it was the first time since 1995 that no moderator acted as a host. In 2016, for the first time since 2009, there was a duet consisting of a moderator and moderator. In 2017 there was the case for the first time that three moderators led through the three programs. It was the first time since 1956 that a host was not hosted by a presenter. In 2018, as in 2015, there were again four moderators. In 2019 there were again four hosts, but this time for the first time consisting of two moderators and two moderators. In 2020, on the other hand, a moderator and two moderators will moderate as in 2010 to 2012.
