Pilou Asbæk
Johan Philip "Pilou" Asbæk (born March 2, 1982 in Copenhagen , Denmark ) is a Danish actor .
Life
Johan Philip Asbæk grew up on a side street to Kongens Nytorv in Copenhagen as the son of the artist couple Patricia Asbæk and Jacob Asbæk, who have been known since the 1970s . Because of his independent and above all stubborn character, his parents sent him to the strict and authoritarian boarding school Herlufsholm near Næstved . And although he hated boarding school, he stayed there for several years and began to take an interest in acting. So he wrote and staged his first own plays in Herlufsholm. After graduating from high school, he met Bill Pullman , who was filming Dear Wendy , and decided to become an actor too, so he began studying acting at Statens Teaterskole , where he graduated in 2008.
He then got smaller and bigger roles, including in Oplev's award-winning drama Worlds Apart and Fischer's also award-winning drama Eine Familie . For his first leading role in the Danish prison drama R , he was not only awarded the Shooting Star of the Berlinale , he was also honored as Best Leading Actor and Best Supporting Actor at the Danish Film Prize Bodil and Best Leading Actor at the Danish Film Prize Robert . His best-known role is that of the spin doctor Kasper Juul in the successful Danish series Borgen - Dangerous Ropes .
From 2016 to 2019 he played the role of Euron Greyjoy (originally Greyjoy ) in the hit HBO series Game of Thrones .
Asbæk is in a relationship with the Danish playwright Anna Bro , with whom he has a daughter. He is a fan of FC Copenhagen .
Together with Lise Rønne and Nikolaj Koppel he moderated the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen . It is often dubbed in German by Sascha Rotermund .
