Reviews
“Committed and empathetic thriller drama about human traffic in post-war Bosnia, where racial hatred reigns and young women are mercilessly abused as sex slaves. After scandalous real events, Rachel Weisz ( The Mummy ) fights against a corrupt system in which the US military and the UN are involved. European star actors like Vanessa Redgrave, David Strathairn and Monica Bellucci refine the grim, gloomy, serious accusation against organized crime. "
reception
The film is based on real events, both Kathryn Bolkovac and Madeleine Rees are real people. After a screening of The Whistleblower , UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon opened a panel discussion on sexual exploitation and sexual abuse in conflict and post-conflict situations.
