Luke Treadaway

Luke Antony Newman Treadaway (born September 10, 1984 in Exeter , Devon ) is a British theater and film actor .

Life and career

Treadaway was born in 1984 and grew up in the southern English village of Sandford . His father works as an architect, his mother is a teacher.

His twin brother Harry Treadaway is also an actor. Their drama teacher inspired both of them to start acting. They performed together at the National Youth Theater from the age of 16 and later studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art .

The brothers made their film debut in Brothers of the Head as Siamese twins who appear as a punk rock band. In addition to various short films and television productions, Luke initially devoted himself to theater. In 2007 he appeared in Die Heiligen Johanna and in War Horse, among others . In 2009, both Treadaways resumed roles as brothers in the play Over There , directed by Mark Ravenhill .

2010 saw Treadaway in the music video for For the First Time by Irish rock band The Script . He became known to a larger audience in 2012 for his role as weed brewis in the science fiction comedy Attack the Block .

In 2012 he took on a leading role in the tragic comedy Cheerful Weather for the Wedding , a film adaptation of the novel by Julia Strachey from 1932. In 2016 he played the lead role of James Bowen in the film Bob the Stray .

He lives in London with his girlfriend Ruta Gedmintas .
