The Script is a pop-rock - group from Ireland . According to the sources, they have sold more than 18.8 million records in their careers. The Script's most successful release is the Single Hall of Fame with over 5.8 million units sold.
history
Daniel O'Donoghue ( vocals , keyboards ) and Mark Sheehan ( guitar ) met early on in the shabby James Street area of Dublin . During this time they both found inspiration in black music from the USA .
The singing of Stevie Wonder was something of an initial spark for Daniel. He tried to completely sing the records of the music legend and thus approach Wonder's vocal technique. “I tried to sing whole records, even the string arrangements. Many good singers imitate a musical instrument - Amy Winehouse is, for example, B. been a saxophone. My instrument is the violin. Vibrato - with it you can express incredibly deeply felt feelings. "
Shortly after Danny and Mark entered into their songwriting and production partnership, their talent was discovered. You have been invited to the United States to work with some of your great studio role models, including Dallas Austin , Teddy Riley , The Neptunes, and Rodney Jerkins . Danny and Mark were now a "backroom team," producing demos for other artists, but when they met Dublin-born drummer Glen, they immediately invited him to a work weekend in Los Angeles . Glen had been playing sessions since he was fifteen and put the money into solo projects and his home studio. He put all of that on hold for the first time when his collaboration with Mark and Danny produced three songs in just one week.
Career
The band's debut single was titled We Cry . In the UK charts it rose to number 15 and in the Irish charts it rose to 9. In Germany, We Cry was released on May 16, 2008 and The Man Who Can't Be Moved on August 29, 2008. In 2009 they were awarded the European Border Breakers Award (EBBA).
The third album # 3 was released on September 7, 2012 in Ireland, on September 10 in Great Britain and on October 9, 2012 in North America, before it was finally officially released on January 25, 2013 in Germany.
The single Hall of Fame , extracted from # 3 , was used as the title song of the film Kokowääh 2 , which was started on February 7, 2013 and directed by and with Til Schweiger . The song was created in collaboration with US rapper will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas .
From January 16, 2015, the band embarked on the No Sound Without Silence Tour , which opened in Tokyo and then continued in Europe , North and South America , Asia , Africa and Oceania . At the same time, the fourth studio album of the same name was presented.
