Harry Treadaway (born September 10, 1984 in Exeter , Devon ) is a British theater and film actor .

Life and career

Treadaway was born in 1984 and grew up in the southern English village of Sandford . His father is an architect, his mother works as a teacher.

His twin brother Luke Treadaway is also an actor. Their drama teacher inspired both of them to start acting. They performed together at the National Youth Theater from the age of 16 and later studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art .

The brothers made their film debut in Brothers of the Head as Siamese twins who appear as a punk rock band. In 2007, Treadaway appeared in Ian Curtis Biopic Control as Joy Division drummer Stephen Morris . In the following year he took on the side of Saoirse Ronan in the fantasy film City of Ember - Escape from Darkness his first leading role. Other film and television roles followed. He was seen in Penny Dreadful from 2014 to 2016 , played in Mr. Mercedes since 2017 and appeared in Star Trek: Picard (2020). His work includes around 30 productions.

In 2009 he made his stage actor debut alongside his brother in the play Over There , directed by Mark Ravenhill . In 2010, he took over and directed by Iain Glen a role in Ibsen -Stück ghosts .
