London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art
The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art ( LAMDA ) claims to be one of the leading drama schools in the English-speaking world.
General
The school was created in 1883 from a merger of various institutions , some of whose history dates back to 1861 ; this makes the LAMDA the oldest of its kind in Great Britain . Its current form emerged in the early 20th century when the style of theater - and with it the requirements for acting training - changed fundamentally.
In the meantime, LAMDA no longer exclusively offers acting classes, but also other training courses related to the world of theater, such as B. Lighting design .
