György Kárpáti
György Kárpáti (born June 23, 1935 in Budapest , † June 17, 2020 in Budapest) was a Hungarian water polo player .
Gyorgy Karpati was with the Hungarian water polo team in 1952 , 1956 and 1964 Olympic champion and won at the Olympic Games 1960 bronze. In 1954, 1958 and 1962 he was European champion with the Hungarian team. After the Hungarian uprising was bloodily suppressed in 1956 , Kárpáty was one of the five players who returned to Hungary immediately after the 1956 Olympic Games. He played a total of 165 international matches for Hungary. With Ferencváros Budapest , Kárpáty won the Hungarian championship in water polo in 1956, 1962, 1963, 1965 and 1968. In 1982 he was inducted into the international swimming sports hall of fame .
